Is it time for you to get a new door?

Signs you may be due for a new door
  • Drafty cold air coming into your house which cause high energy bills
  • To increase curb appeal
  • Hinges and the door knobs are rusty
  • Door does not close and latch properly

Whatever the reason is, a new door will add value, enjoyment, and overall savings. A door is used every single day and having one that is working well will make your life easier.

Types of doors

Exterior Doors (Front & Back Doors)

These doors are the primary access points and are designed for security, durability, and aesthetics.

  • Wooden Door – Traditional look, but requires periodic painting or staining.
  • Steel Entry Door – Strong, secure, and resistant to weather.
  • Fiberglass Entry Door – Durable, low-maintenance, and energy-efficient (This is the door my wife and I purchased for our home).
  • Glass Entry Door – Modern and elegant, often combined with wood or metal for security.

Interior doors

Interior doors allows the homeowner individual style to be seen. For example my wife and I are renovating our closets in our home and we really like the barn style doors. Our house is already ranch style architecture and barn doors will work perfectly for this farmhouse syle house. These types of doors generally quicker for me to install because usually you do not need a new frame.

  • Panel Door – A classic design with raised or recessed panels.
  • Flush Door – Flat, smooth, and minimalist in design.
  • Sliding Door – Space-saving, moves on a track.
  • Pocket Door – Slides into the wall, great for small spaces.
  • Barn Door – Rustic and stylish, mounted on a sliding track (My wife and I are seriously considering installing these).
  • French Door – Double doors with glass panels, adding elegance.
